Laundry and Love

When was the last time you voluntarily spent time with your family? Notice I said ‘voluntarily’? Yah. When?

Mine was about half an hour ago. I spent the last four hours doing laundry and talking with my mother, voluntarily. We talked about life, love, friendships, our experiences, jobs, family and food. We insulted each other too (it’s kind of our love language… sometimes).

At the end of the night, I went to my room and she went to hers. We might probably not do this again for a while. It keeps the relationship fresh and exciting, if you know what I mean?

So you. Yes, you. When was the last time you spent time with your family? When was the last time they actually did not drive you insane? When was the last time you looked at them and thought, “Hmm… they’re not so bad after all”?

Now, when was the last time your family drove you nuts?!

The easiest one to answer (voluntary bonding or crazy streak) is solely dependent on how recent it is/was.

That’s it.

I have nothing wise or smart to say about all this. I am still figuring out how to love my family without wanting to just… beat up somebody half of the time. Ugh!

Am I weird?
