Work out your salvation.

Did you know that when you get married, it is not the end but the beginning? Like the wedding is the beginning of the whole thing. The good, the bad, the phenomenal.

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, it is not the end. Yes, it is a gift freely given. But it is merely a beginning of the rest of your life. The journey to forever.

I didn’t know this.

I thought that once I was saved, I just had to hold on tight till Jesus came. I just had to hang in there. I didn’t think I had to do anything. If I did do something, it was like a condiment – complementary, but not essential. I was wrong.

Getting saved is just the first step.

There are so… so many more.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling
Philippians 2:12
